Multidisciplinary education in radio and audio communication skills

We will train you as a multidisciplinary, versatile and adaptable professional so you can join the increasingly growing audio industry, very much in line with traditional radio. The evolution of the digital sonosphere requires professional profiles that can work both in a station, as well as in production or distribution companies, dealing with information, entertainment or branded content. This postgraduate course enables you, in addition to performing the traditional functions in the world of radio as a communicator, producer, scriptwriter or program announcer, to develop as a podcaster. We will train you as an audio content creator, producer, distributor and marketer of podcasts, audiobooks and social audio.

The Master's Degree in Continuing Education in Radio, Podcast, and Digital Audio, with 60 credits, offers advanced practical training thanks to Nebrija's academic weight and the experience of the most renowned professionals in the audio industry, at the hands of the most senior radio station in Spain, leading in audience in all its programs. Cadena SER belongs to the largest radio group in Spanish, is present in thirteen countries, and absolute leader in Spain, Colombia and Chile.

The Master's Degree in Continuing Education in Radio, Podcast and Digital Audio has been academically designed as a result of the evolution of the audio market in recent years. The evolution of the digital sonosphere has meant a change in the communication paradigm in which the radio had the market hegemony.

Radio, despite having that listener predominance, needs to incorporate new listeners attracted by new content and narratives. Radio will not disappear as a medium, but it will have to adapt to the new demand for audio, and that is why it is in the midst of a digital revolution. Therefore, it demands that professional profiles adapt through experience and tradition, to new ways of reaching listeners, new ways of distributing sound in all kinds of media that complement and enrich traditional radio from digitization.

In addition, the main international audio platforms in Spain are investing in exclusive content. This implies a commitment to production in each country and therefore the need for qualified professionals with the ability to respond to market demands and those of requested by the companies in the sector.

In a digital environment in constant transformation, new platforms, interaction and mobility represent an opportunity which radio has leveraged in order to enhance its social function and reach new audiences.

"The audio industry has changed considerably in recent years; radio continues to be the most credible means of communication, but digitalization has improved the possibilities for loudness. With 10 years of university teaching experience in radio, and aware of the new digital sonosphere, the Master's Degree in Radio, Podcast and Digital Audio aims to offer transversal training towards becoming the various professional figures demanded by the labor market. The master's degree has Cadena SER as a partner, which is the most-listened to general radio in Spain, both in its analog and digital contents (EGM, 2023). Regarding our students' education, we have great radio and audio professionals who approach the creation, production and distribution of sound from their active experience. The curriculum, which is unique among Spanish universities, was created with a team of academic research experts in this field. Students are trained with six months of paid internships at Cadena SER and other Prisa companies. This postgraduate course trains students for a large number of career opportunities: producer, radio announcer and editor, social media and digital radio manager, podcaster, sound editor, expert in branded podcasts..."

"Desarraigadas". Winning project of the III Nebrija-SER 2024 Podcasting Contest

"Desarraigadas" is the winning project of the III Nebrija-SER 2024 Podcasting Contest. An original idea carried out by Eva Criado, Elena Ortuño, Sara Trabazos and María Ibáñez that delves into the stories of those immigrant women who come to Spain to work illegally. They are not only the stories of their origins, but the reality of the present that they live in a country like Spain where to have access to the welfare state they have to go through different processes that make them feel rootless.
